Total Body Photography
Total Body Photography is a simple approach to creating a map of a patient's skin for use as an adjunct in the early detection of melanoma.
Normal 0 At MeloPhoto Ltd we take 25 standardised digital photographs of a patients skin called a body map. This body map is a high resolution photographic view of a patient's skin at a fixed point in time, using this benchmark one can make comparisons with the current state of ones skin and look out for changes in mole shape and colour.
Changes in mole shape and colour may indicate the onset of melanoma. If you have noted any change in your moles call your doctor or dermatologist immediately.
Melanoma can be treated more effectively when it is detected earlier and unnecessary excisions and biopsies can be minimised.
MeloPhoto’s professional medical photographers can also be instructed to take close up images of any moles the patient or doctor wishes to monitor more closely. We supply copies of the resulting images either on CD or in print format to both the patient and their referring doctor.Total body photography is used in melanoma clinics and cancer centers world-wide.
