FAQ

Will Total Body Photography tell me if I have melanoma or not?
No. Total Body Photography is only to be used as a point of reference for future home and clinical inspection of moles. Total Body Photography is not a replacement for clinical inspection by a doctor or dermatologist. Instead, it is a tool used in conjunction with regular visits to your doctor.

Do I need a referral from a doctor?
Yes. We suggest that you are currently under the care of a doctor or dermatologist who can judge best whether you are a good candidate for Total Body Photography.

What happens the images that MeloPhoto take?

We send both you and your referring doctor a copy of your images on CD. MeloPhoto will save your images on our database.

Can I bring somebody along to oversee the photography?
Yes. You are more than welcome to bring along a friend or family member to oversee the photography. As standard we ask that patients under 18 bring a parent or guardian to oversee the photography.

How much does the photography cost?
Total Body Photography costs 80 euro at our rooms in Galway. A Print Book of all images taken by us can be supplied at an extra cost of 40 euro (cost price) if requested.

How safe is Total Body Photography for patients?
We employ safeguards with client integrity in mind such as...
The client may elect to bring with him/her a chaperone to oversee the photography.
Prior to photography being carried out we inform the client of the various poses required for the photo session.
The client will also sign a consent form prior to photography being carried out.

Our database images are digitally encrypted.
